2016 has been highly productive for the Honorary Consulate and sticks in memory with interesting events. The Belarusians began to visit Chile more actively, get aquatinted with a culture of a country, that is distantly far away, but so close mentally. Such important lights of the developing of relationship between both countries as economy and education have achieved a new incentive and additional points of cooperation.

Last September was marked with an official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Chile to the Republic of Belarus within a framework of visiting of Eurasian Economic Union countries headed by Vice-Minister for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Chile Mr. A. Reboliedo. Representatives of State authorities and business communities were also included in the official delegation. Bilateral negotiations and business matchmaking session on the most burning issues in different economic branches took place within the visit.

Representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Chile have visited Belarus with an official visit for the first time last November. Delegation members – Mr. N.Cataldo, Mr. P.Espinoza and Mr. C.Apara – visited Belarusian Higher Educational Institutions, where presented a lecture about educational system reform, which is realizing nowadays in Chile. They also conducted negotiations in the Parliament and the Ministry of Education, that were succeed with a signing of the Cooperation Agreement Draft in branch of Education between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Chile.

As experience has shown, negotiation of visa barrier between Republics for official delegations, hereafter - simplification, at a later stage – removal of visa barriers for all the citizenry of the Republic of Chile and the Republic of Belarus is a solvable task. We are waiting for guests from Chile in 2017 and will encourage by all means for a growing number of the Belarusians have an opportunity to visit Chile in future.

The Honorary Consulate will continue its active work in widening economic and financial, cultural and educational relations between Chile and Belarus.
